2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl methacrylate (CAS 352-87-4) is a fluorinated acrylic ester organic compound. It is a colourless, transparent liquid with a low flash point and is classified as a flammable liquid. It is primarily used as a monomer for synthesising fluorinated polymers and can significantly enhance a material’s hydrophobicity, chemical resistance, and weather resistance. Its most important application is as a modifier, widely used in high-performance coatings, optical materials (such as optical fiber cladding), protective coatings, and biomedical materials. It should be stored in a sealed container, protected from light, and kept in a cool, well-ventilated area.
