Introduction
Isopropyl Palmitate (IPP) is a synthetic oil that is insoluble in water. It is miscible with organic solvents such as alcohol, ether, methylene chloride, and oil. IPP is widely used in skin care products and cosmetics and is an excellent skin softener. It is stable in nature and not easily oxidized or produces odor. IPP can make the skin soft and smooth without feeling greasy, and has good permeability. It can also be used as a good solvent for pigments in lipstick and mascara.
