Introduction
N,N-Dimethylaminoethyl acrylate (DMAM for short) is an important special methacrylate ester. Since its molecule contains active groups such as vinyl and tertiary amine groups, it can be used to synthesise high molecular weight compounds with active amine groups or quaternary ammonium groups through polymerisation reactions. It is widely used in water treatment, papermaking, coatings, pharmaceuticals, oilfield chemicals, adhesives, fibre additives, and plastic and rubber modification.
