(Z)-N-9-octadecenylpropane-1,3-diamine (CAS 7173-62-8) is an aliphatic amine surfactant with the chemical formula C₁₈H₃₇N and a molecular weight of 267.49. It appears as a white, viscous liquid with a density of 0.813 and a melting point of 15–22°C. boiling point of 147°C at 2 mmHg, refractive index of 1.4585–1.4625, flash point of 154°C, and is insoluble in water. It is primarily used in asphalt emulsifiers, antistatic agents, and betaine-based products.
(Z)-N-9-octadecenylpropane-1,3-diamine is used as a synthetic intermediate for asphalt emulsifiers and surfactants.
