1-Hexanol is a colorless liquid that is miscible with ethanol, propylene glycol, and oil. It has a light green scent of young branches and leaves, with a slight aroma of wine, fruit, and fat.
1-Hexanol or its carboxylic acid esters are present in trace amounts in citrus fruits, berries, etc. It is also contained in tea leaves; various essential oils such as lavender oil; banana; apple; strawberry; and violet leaf oil.
