Product Details
Introduction
2,2,4,4-Tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol (CBDO) is an important diol polyester monomer, mainly used in the production of high-performance polyester materials. Adding CBDO to copolyester can significantly improve the performance of polyester, such as improving temperature resistance, transparency, chemical resistance, impact strength, etc.

Application
2,2,4,4-Tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol is mainly used to synthesize high-performance polyesters that can replace polycarbonate (PC). The glass transition temperature of traditional polyesters is low, and their application in medium and high temperature fields is subject to certain restrictions. The addition of 2,2,4,4-Tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol can significantly improve the glass transition temperature, weather resistance and transparency of polyesters. Polyesters synthesized using 2,2,4,4-Tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol have excellent physical properties similar to bisphenol A, such as high impact strength, excellent dimensional stability, and high glass transition temperature. It also has characteristics that PC synthesized using bisphenol A does not have, such as good chemical resistance, hydrolysis stability, and high ductility. Polyesters made from Tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol are ideal substitutes for PC.
