N-[Tris(hydroxymethyl)methyl]-3-amino-2-hyidroxypropansulfonic acid (TAPSO) is a common biological buffer and a pH stabilizing reagent with an effective pH of 7-8 and a pKa of 7.5–9.0. TAPSO contains a Tris group and has comparable reactivity with zwitterionic glycine peptides.
