Introduction

4-Chloro-3,5-dimethylphenol is also called para-chloro-m-xylenol (PCMX) or chloroxylenol, is a white crystalline powder with a slight aromatic odor; melting point: 114~116℃, boiling point: 246℃; water solubility: 0.3g/L, moderate solubility in dilute alkali, and high solubility in many organic solvents.

Medical and pharmaceutical use
PCMX can be used for preoperative skin disinfection, sterilization of medical equipment and daily cleaning.
PCMX is suitable for the production of medical antibacterial soaps, foot disinfectants and first aid supplies.
PCMX can also be made into liquid, waterless hand sanitizers, powders, creams and lotions, or as a pharmaceutical preservative.
Household and daily use
PCMX is used as a bactericide and insecticide for skin wounds (liquids, creams, lotions).
PCMX is suitable for disinfectants, detergents, disinfectant soaps and personal hygiene products (such as hand sanitizers, shampoos, especially anti-dandruff products).
Industrial use
Coating surface: PCMX is used as a fungicide in coatings and is suitable for humid environments.
Glues and adhesives: PCMX can prevent microbial decomposition, odor generation, filter clogging and metal corrosion.
Leather treatment: mildew and antibacterial, especially suitable for salted fur, vegetable tanned leather and air-dried rawhide.
