Polyethylene 2,5-furandicarboxylate(PEF) is the most important functional polyester material downstream of FDCA and can be used to produce bottles, films and fibers. As a furan ring polyester, PEF can achieve bio-based substitution for petroleum-based terephthalic acid raw materials, and the downstream polyester products have special functionality due to the oxygen-containing structure of the furan ring, such as gas barrier properties, heat stability and antistatic properties.
