Introduction
Hexamethylene Diamine Tetra (Methylene Phosphonic Acid) (HDTMPA) is a white crystalline powder, slightly soluble in water, and its solubility is less than 5% at room temperature.
HDTMPA can inhibit the formation of various scales (such as calcium carbonate scale, calcium sulfate scale, barium sulfate scale and iron oxide scale, etc.), but in water treatment it is mainly used to inhibit calcium sulfate and barium sulfate scale. Among various organic phosphonic acids, its performance in inhibiting calcium sulfate scale is outstanding, not only has a high scale inhibition rate, but also a long effective time, so it is particularly suitable for extrusion treatment in oil fields. HDTMPA can also be used in boiler water treatment.
