Introduction
Disodium of 1-Hydroxy Ethylidene-l,1-Diphosphonic Acid is also called Etidronate disodium, referred to as HEDP·Na2.
HEDP·Na2 is an organic phosphonic acid scale and corrosion inhibitor that can form stable complexes with various metal ions such as iron, copper, and zinc, and can dissolve oxides on the metal surface.
HEDP·Na2 can still play a good role in corrosion and scale inhibition at 250℃, is still very stable at high pH, is not easy to hydrolyze, and is not easy to decompose under general light and heat conditions. It has better acid and alkali resistance and chlorine oxidation resistance than other organic phosphonic acids (salts). It can form a six-ring chelate with metal ions in water, especially calcium ions, so it has a good scale inhibition effect and a significant solubility limit effect. When used in combination with other water treatment agents, it shows an ideal synergistic effect.
HEDP·Na2 is widely used in industrial circulating cooling water systems such as power, chemical, metallurgy, and fertilizer, as well as scale and corrosion inhibition of medium and low pressure boilers, oil field water injection, and oil pipelines; HEDP·Na2 can be used as a cleaning agent for metals and non-metals in the textile industry, a peroxide stabilizer and color fixer in the bleaching and dyeing industry, and a complexing agent in the cyanide-free electroplating industry.
