Introduction
Benzalkonium chloride is widely used as a bactericide and algaecide in factory circulating cooling water, power plant water, paper mills, oil field oil well injection systems, and medical equipment disinfection. It is also used for sanitary disinfection and washing in swimming pools, laundries and public places, and for cleaning food industry equipment.
Benzalkonium chloride can be used in combination with other bactericides, such as isothiazolinone, glutaraldehyde, dithiocyanomethane, etc., to enhance the effect, but it cannot be used together with chlorophenol agents. It is also a leveling agent for acrylic fiber dyed with cationic dyes.
