Cuprous iodide is an off-white to brownish-yellow powder. It is often used as an organic reaction catalyst, anode ray tube covering, and animal feed additive. Cuprous iodide can also be used together with mercuric iodide as an indicator for measuring the temperature rise of mechanical bearings.
