Introduction and Application
Copper sulfide (II) is an inorganic compound, a sulfide of divalent copper, with the chemical formula CuS. It is dark brown and insoluble. It is a very insoluble substance (second only to mercuric sulfide, platinum sulfide, silver sulfide, etc.). Because of its insolubility, some seemingly impossible reactions can occur.
Copper sulfide (II) is used as an analytical reagent, for coloring carbon paper and ordinary ballpoint pen oil, preparing mixed catalysts, aniline black dye coloring, and ship bottom protection paint.
