Introduction
3-Chloropropyl isocyanate is an organic intermediate that can be used to prepare a solid catalyst. Using mesoporous foamed silica as a carrier, it first undergoes an esterification reaction with 3-chloropropyl isocyanate in a system with acetonitrile as a solvent, and then reacts with 1-methylimidazole to obtain a solid catalyst for the hydrolysis of ethylene carbonate to produce ethylene glycol.
