Introduction

It is an important basic organic chemical raw material, primarily used in the production of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyurethane, gamma-butyrolactone, tetrahydrofuran (THF), and polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMEG).

Chemical Industry

1,4-Butanediol is an important organic and fine chemical raw material used in the production of tetrahydrofuran, Y-butyrolactone, and polybutylene terephthalate. It can also be used to prepare N-methylpyrrolidone, N-vinyl pyrrolidone, and other pyrrolidone derivatives. It is also used in the preparation of vitamin B6 and pesticides. 1,4-Butanediol has good hygroscopicity and flexibility and can be used as a gelatin softener and water absorbent, as well as a treatment agent for glass, paper, and other non-paper materials. Widely used as solvents, plasticizers, lubricants, wetting agents, softeners, adhesives, and brighteners in the electroplating industry.

Plastic Industry

1,4-butanediol can be used as a chain extender and polyester raw material to produce polyurethane elastomer and soft polyurethane foam. Esters produced by 1,4-butanediol are good plasticizers for cellulose, PVC, polyacrylate and polyester.
