Dodecyl alcohol ester, also known as Texanol or 2,2,4-Trimethyl-1,3-Pentanediol Monoisobutyrate, is widely used in building and decorative materials as an ideal film-forming aid. Dodecyl alcohol ester is a strong solvent for latex polymers and exhibits excellent hydrolytic stability, high polymerization properties, and a wide range of applications. It lowers the minimum film-forming temperature of latex paints, making it a highly desirable film-forming aid.
