Introduction
2-tert-Butylphenol is an alkyl-substituted phenol compound. Its tert-butyl side chain gives the molecule strong hydrophobicity and high thermal stability. It is an important intermediate of 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol antioxidant and can be further hydrogenated to obtain fragrance-grade cyclohexanol derivatives.
