Introduction 

5-Methyl-3-vinyl-2-oxazolidinone is a reactive diluent.

5-Methyl-3-vinyl-2-oxazolidinone has many technical advantages over conventional reactive diluents (NVP):

1. 5-Methyl-3-vinyl-2-oxazolidinone is liquid at room temperature and has a very low viscosity of about 4mPa·s. Compared with conventional raw materials, it enables the preparation of low-viscosity and almost odorless formulations.

2. 5-Methyl-3-vinyl-2-oxazolidinone is characterized by its high copolymerization reactivity with acrylates. The monomer has excellent adhesion properties on all common substrates, even at low dosages.

3. 5-Methyl-3-vinyl-2-oxazolidinone also makes the colors of the final printed products and coatings more vivid.

4. The toxicological profile of 5-Methyl-3-vinyl-2-oxazolidinone is an additional benefit. Compared with conventional products, 5-Methyl-3-vinyl-2-oxazolidinone does not require "serious health hazard" and "acute toxicity" labels according to the classification of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
