Introduction
Ammonium hexafluorotitanate is a white powder that is stable at room temperature and standard atmospheric pressure. It has a melting point of 1,660°C and a boiling point of 3,287°C. It is highly soluble in water but insoluble in ethanol and diethyl ether. It must be stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry place. It is primarily used as a corrosion-resistant cleaning agent in the manufacture of ceramics and glass, as well as in the production of synthetic gemstones.
Properties: Shiny flaky crystals. Unstable in air, decomposes in water, and loses ammonium fluoride when heated. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol and ether.
