Introduction

Brominated polystyrene is an off-white powder or granule. It is an internationally recognized environmentally friendly flame retardant that does not contain polybrominated diphenyl ethers and polybrominated biphenyls and complies with ROHS standards. It has good mechanical, physical and chemical properties such as high flame retardancy, thermal stability and light stability. Brominated polystyrene is a macromolecular flame retardant with good compatibility with the substrate, no precipitation, no migration, no frost on the surface, and strong antistatic ability.

Brominated polystyrene is a brominated organic flame retardant, which is widely used in engineering plastics such as polybutylene terephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate, polyphenylene ether, nylon-66, etc.
Brominated polystyrene is mainly used in thermoplastic resins such as PA, PBT, PET, etc., and needs to be used with sharpeners during use. When flame-retarding polyester, the addition amount of 10% (reinforced) ~ 17% non-reinforced) can give the material UL94V-0 grade (0.8mm), and when flame-retarding polyamide, the addition amount of 21% can give the material UL94V-0 grade (0.8mm).
Brominated polystyrene is made of polystyrene as raw material, which is brominated and is mainly used as a flame retardant in engineering plastics. Since polystyrene (PS) is an engineering plastic, BPS has good compatibility with engineering plastics. It has minimal impact on the mechanical properties of the material and can maintain more than 90% of the mechanical properties.
