The main active substances of this product are benzyl alcohol(CAS 100-51-6) and dehydroacetic acid(CAS 520-45-6): dehydroacetic acid can inhibit the growth of yeast and mold and the germination of spores; benzyl alcohol is a broad-spectrum bactericide. The combination of the two has a synergistic effect. Therefore, this product can be used as an antibacterial agent, preservative, and bactericide in cosmetic products.
