Product Details
Introduction
Hexafluorobisphenol A, also known as bisphenol AF, or BPAF for short, is a white crystalline powder at room temperature and is an important organic intermediate. It is an important fluorine-containing crosslinking agent that can make rubber products have good resistance to compression deformation, chemical corrosion and thermal stability.
Properties
This product is white powder or crystal, slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether, with a melting point of 159-162°C, a boiling point of 350-400°C, a flash point of 205°C, and can be decomposed and burned when heated to 510°C.
Application
Bisphenol AF is mainly used as a vulcanizing agent (crosslinking agent) for fluororubber. More than 70% of fluororubber adopts bisphenol AF vulcanization system. Bisphenol AF is used as a monomer to synthesize fluorinated polyimide and other fluorinated polymers. These polymers have excellent physical, chemical and mechanical properties and can be used as gas separation membranes, proton exchange membranes, dielectric coatings, optical fiber sheaths, etc. They are widely used in microelectronics, fuel cells, optics, space technology and other fields.
