Introduction

Dipropylene glycol monobutyl ether (DPNB) is a colorless transparent liquid with low volatility, low odor, low water solubility, slight ether odor and bitter taste. Dipropylene glycol monobutyl ether (DPNB) contains two functional groups, alcohol and ether, in its molecule, which can provide unique polar and non-polar solubility. This surfactant-like structure enables alcohol ether to couple different phases and be miscible with many hydrophilic and hydrophobic solvents. It can reduce the surface tension of aqueous systems and has excellent penetration and solubility. Therefore, it has a wide range of uses, such as solvents for printing inks, enamels, resins, dyes, pesticides, cosmetics, cutting oils, lubricants, detergents, cleaning agents and metal release agents, film-forming aids for water-based coatings, and coupling agents and dispersants.

Application 

Coatings: Can be used as coagulants for acrylic resins, styrene acrylic resins, and polyvinyl acetate, endowing paint films with excellent properties. It is one of the most effective film-forming aids for many water-based coatings.
Cleaning agent: Suitable for use in cleaning agents, especially in systems that require extremely low volatilization rates, such as wax removers and floor cleaners. It is a good coupling agent for lubricating grease and oil, and can be used as a paint remover and animal oil remover.
Other Applications: Agricultural products, cosmetics, electronic ink, textiles.
