Introduction

n-Octyltrimethoxysilane, Model KT963M, is a monomeric alkylalkoxysilane that reacts with minerals when exposed to moisture. The monomer can penetrate deeply into the substrate and then react to form a protective surface around each microscopic particle. This protective surface is extremely durable and significantly improves weathering resistance. The silane is readily soluble in organic solvents to form clear, colorless, stable solutions.

Application 

KT963M is a long-chain alkyl alkoxysilane that can be directly used as a waterproofing agent for concrete, cement products, etc. It is widely used in waterproofing of bridges, roads and buildings. It has the characteristics of low volatility and can penetrate deep into the substrate to form a protective film, greatly improving the waterproof and alkali-resistant ability of the substrate, while also reducing the damage to the substrate caused by frost, salt, etc. KT963M is also suitable as a modifier for polyolefin resins, effectively improving the cross-linking speed of polymers, improving the softness of polymers, and increasing the weather resistance and wet adhesion of polymers.
