Introduction
3-Methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone hydrochloride monohydrate (MBTH) is a common determination reagent, which can be used for the determination of hexosamine in mucopolysaccharides, the spectrophotometric determination of trace selenium in environmental samples, and the determination of fatty aldehydes. It is toxic, irritating, sensitive to light, decomposes when heated, soluble in water, and slightly soluble in anhydrous ethanol.

Application
