Introduction:
3-N-isopentyl-N-ethylamino-6-methyl-7-phenylaminofluoran is a black fluoran-type heat-sensitive dye. Black fluoran-type heat-sensitive dye is a compound with xanthene as the parent structure. It is usually colorless or light-colored crystals. When it comes into contact with the color developer (acid clay, bisphenol A, POB, etc.), the color develops as the lactone ring inside the molecule cracks. It is used as a colorant for heat- (pressure-) sensitive paper.
