Candesartan Cilexetil is a prodrug of candesartan, with an action strength 10 times that of losartan, good selectivity (affinity for AT1 receptor is more than 10,000 times higher than AT2), and a long duration of action (once a day). Since it is a prodrug, its active effect is released relatively slowly in the body after oral administration, making it an ideal drug for the treatment of hypertension.
