Product Details

Introduction

Carboxyl-terminated polybutadiene acrylonitrile (CTBN) has carboxyl functional groups and is one of the liquid rubber products. It is widely used in aerospace, aviation and civil industries.
CTBN is generally used in combination with thermosetting resins. CTBN has active terminal carboxyl groups and can react chemically with epoxy resins to form good chemical bonds, which can greatly improve the toughness of epoxy resins.

Application

CTBN modified epoxy resin combined with about 25% acrylonitrile can be used to make a metal structural adhesive with high strength, toughness and fatigue resistance. It can be used for bonding aircraft structural parts; it is used for bonding organic glass and polyester tape, and its performance is significantly improved; this adhesive can also be used for the infiltration of various fabrics (glass fiber, polyester, carbon fiber).
The room temperature curing adhesive prepared by CTBN and epoxy resin is used to bond aluminum materials, and the highest bonding strength is reached after 72 hours. The peel strength is 0.55Mpa, and the shear strength at 90℃ is 26.7Mpa; CTBN modified epoxy resin is used to prepare electrical component packaging materials, and there is no crack phenomenon after 200 cycles between -55.0 and 150℃, which improves the anti-cracking ability; CTBN can also be used as an adhesive for abrasives, for manufacturing grinding wheels and cutting wheels, with the characteristics of less adhesive and wear resistance, good polishing effect, and resistance to hot water and cutting coolant.
The viscosity of CTBN increases significantly with the increase of the nitrile content in the molecular chain. The amount of additives (colorants, stabilizers, curing agents, fillers, etc.) used during use depends on the viscosity. Viscosity is an important indicator of performance. The acrylonitrile content has a great influence on the processing performance and use of CTBN. The introduction of acrylonitrile in the molecular chain increases its compatibility with phenolic resin and epoxy resin, and improves its bonding performance, oil resistance and crack resistance. CTBN products have good aging resistance, corrosion resistance, excellent thermal stability, low temperature resistance and strong mechanical properties.
