Diethyltoluenediamine (DETDA) CAS 68479-98-1

Product Description

KT E-100 is a sterically hindered aromatic diamine. The steric hindrance of the ethyl and methyl groups makes its reactivity lower than that of toluenediamine (TDA). However, its reaction rate with polyurethane prepolymer is still about 30 times faster than that of MOCA, and several times faster than that of another aromatic diamine with a similar structure, DMTDA. 3,5-Diethyltoluene-2,4-diamine (about 80%) & 3,5-Diethyltoluene-2,6-diamine (about 20%)

Introduction and application

DETDA is a sterically hindered aromatic diamine.

It is mainly used as a curing agent for polyurethane (polyurea) elastomers and epoxy resins.

In the field of polyurethane materials, it is mainly used for reaction injection molding (RIM) polyurethane and spray polyurethane urea systems.

It can also be compounded with slow-curing diamine chain extenders for cast polyurethane elastomers. It has the advantages of fast reaction speed, short demoulding time, high initial strength, and hydrolysis and heat resistance of the products.

It can be used in spray polyurethane (urea) elastomer coating systems to quickly form a strong, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant protective coating. In addition, this product can also be used as a chemical synthesis intermediate, industrial lubricant, etc.

Packaging and storage

200kg galvanized barrel, special packaging is also available upon request.

Store in a cool and dry place in a sealed container. If stored for too long or in a light environment, the color will become darker, but it generally does not affect the reaction activity.

Shelf life is 2 years. If stored beyond the shelf life, it can still be used after the main application indicators are tested and qualified.
