Ferulic Acid CAS 1135-24-6

Introduction 

Ferulic acid is a white or off-white crystalline powder refined by hydrolysis of natural ferulic acid esterase. The plant source is rice bran.

Ferulic acid is anti-inflammatory, analgesic, prevents thrombosis, anti-free radical, and regulates the immune system. It also has strong antioxidant properties, which makes it particularly useful in the formulation of anti-aging cosmetics. Ferulic acid has a good ability to neutralize free radicals, especially the group of free radicals known as “superoxide”, “hydroxyl radicals” and “nitric oxide”. Interestingly, the antioxidant activity of ferulic acid is enhanced by UV exposure, suggesting that it may help protect the skin from sun damage.
