Hydroxypropyl silicone oil

Introduction

Hydroxypropyl silicone oil is a type of modified silicone oil that introduces a hydroxypropyl (–CH₂–CH(OH)–CH₃) functional group into the molecular chain of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). This modification allows traditional hydrophobic silicone oil to retain the original softness, heat resistance, low surface tension and other characteristics of silicone oil while also having a certain degree of hydrophilicity, thus having better interfacial activity and emulsification properties.

Application 

● Tackifier for water-based coatings, improving the adhesion of coatings and the washability of coatings;
● Improve the low-temperature flexibility of polymers;
● Give polymers good processing fluidity;
● Due to the automatic surface effect of silicone, polymers have excellent isolation and anti-sticking properties;
● Has better temperature resistance and wear resistance;
● Can be used as a release agent and mold release agent;
● Silicone-polyurethane and polyester block polymers can improve wet grinding fastness;
● Leather finishing agent.
