Introduction and Application
Hydroxytyrosol is the main component of olive polyphenols in olive leaves, with a content of up to 60%-80%. It is a light yellow oily liquid and a natural polyphenol compound with multiple biological and pharmacological activities. Hydroxytyrosol is an active ingredient in olives and acts as a highly active antioxidant in the human body. Its oxygen free radical absorption capacity is about 4,500,000μmolTE/100 g, which is 10 times that of green tea and more than twice that of CoQ10 and quercetin.
Products related to hydroxytyrosol have become very popular in Europe and the United States, and are mainly used in cosmetics, health products, food and other fields.
