Product Description
Product Details
Octylphosphonic acid (OPA) is a white flaky crystal that can be stored sealed for 12 months under appropriate conditions.
Application:
Octylphosphonic acid (OPA) forms a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) on the target surface and can be used as a phosphonate corrosion protection layer on various surfaces. It is used as a corrosion inhibitor and organic building block in dentistry on calcium hydroxyapatite. It can be used as a corrosion inhibitor on metal household surfaces such as faucets and drains and prevent rust. It can also be formulated as a hard surface cleaner.
Octylphosphonic acid is used as a surface modifier to disperse evenly into the polymer matrix, improving the brightness and dynamics of powder formulations and improving colorimetric results.
OPA belongs to the phosphonate class of compounds, which can mimic phosphates and carboxylates of biological molecules and may inhibit metabolic enzymes.
