Application:
Propylene carbonate is a polar solvent widely used in many fields.
Propylene carbonate can be used as a plasticizer, spinning solvent, dispersant for water-soluble dyes and plastics, oily solvent, and extractant for olefins and aromatics.
Propylene carbonate exhibits excellent light resistance, heat resistance and chemical resistance in battery electrolytes.
Propylene carbonate can replace phenolic resin as a wood adhesive and is used to synthesize dimethyl carbonate. Propylene carbonate is also used as a solvent for gas chromatography stationary phase, polymer synthesis, UV curing coatings and inks. Its high solubility makes it an important solvent for removing carbon dioxide from petroleum gas, cracking gas, etc.
