Introduction and Application
Properties:Colorless shiny crystal or white powder, belongs to tetragonal crystal system, has regular hexahedron or octahedron crystal, soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, aqueous solution is alkaline, can corrode glass. Dissolved in hydrofluoric acid, forms sodium hydrogen fluoride. Toxic, can corrode skin, irritate mucous membrane, and damage nervous system. Relative density 2.558, melting point 993℃, boiling point 1704℃.
Uses:Wood preservative, brewing industry fungicide, agricultural insecticide (must be dyed blue), medical preservative, welding flux and drinking water fluoridation agent, metallurgical flux, raw material for manufacturing other fluorides.
