Application
Silicon tetrachloride can be used to make highly dispersed silica gel, which is an ultra-fine anhydrous silicon dioxide with advantages such as viscosity enhancement, thixotropy, fluidity, and reinforcement.
It is also used as military smoke and poison gas.
It is also the raw material for making ethyl silicate (used as a color developer for anti-rust paint, sand mold adhesive, and refractory coating material).
It is also used to make high-purity special gases for semiconductor materials.
This high-purity product can be used for CVD deposition to make high-purity quartz and optical fibers.
