Introduction

Tetrasodium iminodisuccinate (IDS-Na4) is a phosphorus-free, eco-friendly chelating agent used to replace traditional chelating agents such as EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid), DTPA, NTA, and organic phosphine.It is mainly used as a chelating agent and complexing agent in various fields. In the field of traditional industrial circulating water, it is also used as a water treatment agent, scale inhibitor and water softener.

1) Biodegradable and friendly to the ecosystem.
2) Excellent compatibility, strong alkali resistance, high pH resistance, and high temperature resistance. Good chelating effect of copper, especially under acidic conditions.
3) Excellent stability to hydrogen peroxide H2O2. Under high alkaline conditions, the chelating stability constant to iron ions is still good, and it can be used as a hydrogen peroxide oxygen bleaching stabilizer.

Application
Complexing agent: 

As a complexing agent, it is used in alkaline earth metal and heavy metal ion cleaning agents, and is widely used in industrial cleaning agents, detergents, textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries, pulp and paper industry, hydrogen peroxide stabilizers, electronic chemicals, copper complexing agents, ceramic industry, electroplating industry, photography industry cleaning agents, soil heavy metal pollutants extraction, soil trace element fertilizer chelating agents, etc.

Hydrogen peroxide bleaching stabilizer: 

IDS can be used for hydrogen peroxide bleaching in various processes, with obvious synergistic and stabilizing effects, especially in high temperature alkaline environments, its performance is excellent. It can complex and catalyze the decomposition of copper ions, iron ions, etc. of bleaching agents. In addition, the whiteness of the obtained product is much better than that of traditional stabilizers. When mixed with sodium silicate, it can reduce the formation of silica scale.

Cleaning hard surfaces: 

When used together with surfactants, very good results can be achieved. Neutral cleaning agent, used to remove rust and iron sulfide scale in metal pipeline networks, especially recommended for natural gas pipeline cleaning.

Pulping and textile dyeing and finishing:
It is generally added during water treatment to complex the metal ions in the water system to avoid the influence of metal ions on dyes.
It has a strong complexing (chelating) effect on multivalent color metal ions, turning the color metal ions into colorless water-soluble complexes. The pulp and paper industry improves the whiteness of pulp, and the textile printing and dyeing industry eliminates the coloring effect of multivalent ions on dyes to avoid color deviation and color stability.

Soap detergent formula:
Iminodisuccinate tetrasodium (IDS) can be used in soap formulas. It has stronger detergency than soap without IDS, mainly because the addition of IDS can effectively shield the influence of metal ions on the washing effect of detergents; when added to dishwashing detergents, the precipitation on the surface of stainless steel is minimal, and the effect of secondary washing is higher.

Detergents and daily cleaning agents:
As a degradable complexing agent, sodium salt of iminodisuccinate IDS is used in daily chemicals. Its main function is to complex metal ions, prevent or eliminate the turbidity of liquid daily chemical products, and maintain their clear and transparent state. Enhance the decontamination ability of the product, increase the solubility of calcium-like ions, and enable the surfactant to function normally.

Cosmetics:
IDS forms stable water-soluble complex molecules with heavy metal ions, thereby reducing the oxidative catalytic effect of heavy metal ions on unsaturated fatty acids in cosmetics. Its biodegradability can provide safer product quality and reduce the risk of adverse skin reactions.

Trace elements in agriculture:
IDS can chelate various trace elements and supplement plant trace elements. Ionic trace elements are easy to react with other substances such as phosphate in the soil to precipitate and solidify, while chelated trace elements can be quickly and directly absorbed by plants, with high utilization rate and fast effect.
