Product Details
Introduction
Triethylene glycol monoethyl ether is a colorless, viscous liquid with a density of 1.020 g/mL (25°C), a melting point of -18.7°C, a boiling point of 256°C, a refractive index of 1.438 (lit.), and a vapor pressure of 0.00238 mmHg at 25°C. Its flash point is 106.4°C; it is miscible with water and is flammable, capable of igniting when exposed to high heat or open flames. The oral LD50 in rats is 10.6 g/kg, classifying it as a mildly toxic substance; it causes virtually no irritation to the eyes or skin. It is primarily used as a solvent and should be stored in a well-ventilated area away from light.
