N-Methyl-p-toluenesulfonamide (CAS 640-61-9) is a white to pale yellow crystalline solid with a melting point of 76–79°C, boiling point of 296.5 ± 33.0°C, density of 1.185 g/cm³, flash point of 133.1 ± 25.4°C, and solubility in methanol. As a compound containing a sulfonamide group, it is primarily used as a plasticiser for polyamide resins and in the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates.
N-Methyl-p-toluenesulfonamide is used as a polyamide resin plasticiser and pharmaceutical intermediate.
