Introduction 

N,N'-Carbonyldiimidazole is a white crystalline solid with a melting point of 118–120 °C, a boiling point of 497 °C, and a density of 1.465 g/cm³. It is insoluble in water but soluble in alcohols and ethers.
N,N'-Carbonyldiimidazole reacts with functional groups such as carboxyl, amino, and hydroxyl groups and is used in the synthesis of ketones, esters, and urea compounds, as well as for peptide bonding. It serves as an alternative to phosgene, complies with the principles of green chemistry, and is used in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and pesticide intermediates.
