The chemical name of WST-8 is 2-(2-methoxy-4-nitrophenyl)-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-5-(2,4-disulfophenyl)-2h-tetrazolium sodium salt, which is a main component of the cell viability detection reagent CCK-8 kit. WST-8 is usually used as an indicator of cell viability in cell proliferation assays.
