Introduction
1,1,3,3-Tetramethyldisiloxane (CAS 3277-26-7) is a colorless liquid organosilicon compound synthesised by the hydrolysis of dimethylchlorosilane. Its active hydrogen groups can undergo addition reactions with dienes or alkyne compounds. It is primarily used in the production of addition-cured silicone rubbers, silicone gels, and methyl hydrosiloxanes containing three or more Si-H bonds. It can also serve as a raw material for speciality additives and is used in the preparation of high-purity bis(amino)siloxanes through silyl-hydrogen addition and hydrogenation reactions with acrylonitrile.
1,1,3,3-Tetramethyldisiloxane is an organosilane reducing agent that can be used to reduce the formation of sulfides and reduce etherification reactions. It is used to produce addition silicone rubber, silicone gel, methyl hydrogen silicone oil and other special additives.
