Introduction
Divinyltetramethyldisiloxane is an organic compound that appears as a colorless, transparent liquid with a density of 0.81 g/cm³ (at 20°C), a melting point of -99°C, a boiling point of 139°C, a flash point of 24°C (closed cup), and a refractive index of 1.411.
It is primarily used as a raw material and intermediate in the production of addition-cure silicone rubber, silicone gel, vinyl silicone oil, and other products. It is classified as a hazardous chemical (Hazard Class 3). Its GHS classification includes categories such as flammable liquid, skin irritant, and eye irritant. It is highly flammable (H225) and causes skin irritation (H315) and eye irritation (H319) and must be transported in accordance with UN 1993 standards. It should be stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry environment, away from heat sources and strong oxidizing agents. When handling, protective equipment must be worn, and anti-static measures must be taken.
