Introduction
Isooctyl thioglycolate is an organic sulfur compound generated by the esterification of thioglycolic acid and isooctyl alcohol. It is a colorless oily liquid with a boiling point of 125°C (1.6Kpa) and a pungent odor. It is often used as a hair removal and perm aid in cosmetics, and can also be used in mineral flotation, polymer processing, and industrial additives.

Application

As a flotation collector for sulfide minerals (such as copper and gold), it enhances the lipophilicity of the mineral surface and improves the recovery rate. As a processing aid and plasticizer, it improves the fluidity and mechanical properties of plastics and rubber.
