Introduction
Ethyl laurate (CAS 106-33-2) is an organic synthetic intermediate. At room temperature, it is a colorless or pale yellow liquid with a floral and fruity aroma. It is insoluble in water but miscible with organic solvents such as ethanol, chloroform, and diethyl ether. It is flammable when exposed to open flames or high temperatures and releases carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide upon combustion. Contact with strong oxidizing agents, strong acids, and strong bases should be avoided.
Applications
Ethyl laurate is a colorless or light yellow oily liquid with a special fruity smell. It is widely used in many fields. It is widely used as flavors and fragrances in the food and daily chemical fields. It can also be used as a lubricant, plasticizer, softener and organic synthesis intermediate.
