1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidinol (CAS 2403-89-6) is a white crystalline powder with a density of 0.967 g/cm³ (20°C) and a melting point of 72–76°C. boiling point of 238°C (at atmospheric pressure), and solubility in water of 4.8 g/100 mL (at 20°C). It is primarily used as an intermediate in the production of hindered amine light stabilisers. It poses hazards such as acute toxicity and skin corrosion and must be stored in a sealed container in a dry environment at room temperature.
Tetramethylpiperidinol is an intermediate of hindered amine light stabilizer, an important pharmaceutical intermediate and an inhibitor intermediate. It can also be directly used in resin to prevent aging.
