Product Details
Introduction
2-(Hexyloxy)ethanol, also known as ethylene glycol hexyl ether, is a colourless liquid with a slightly ethereal odour and a bitter taste, a density of 0.888 g/cm³ (at 20°C), a melting point of −45.1°C, a boiling point of 208.1°C (at atmospheric pressure), and a flash point of 91°C (open cup method). Its solubility in water at 20°C is 0.99%, while the solubility of water in this substance is 18.8%. It dissolves ethyl cellulose but does not dissolve cellulose acetate, polyvinyl acetate, and other similar substances.
