Product Details

Introduction and Application

Plant squalene is a colorless or yellow transparent oily liquid with a pleasant smell. It absorbs oxygen and becomes sticky into linseed oil liquid. It is soluble in ether, petroleum ether, acetone and carbon tetrachloride, slightly soluble in ethanol and acetic acid, insoluble in water, and decomposes at 330°C under normal pressure.

Plant squalene is a lipid unsaponifiable substance widely distributed in the bodies of most animals and plants. It originally existed in shark liver oil, also known as cod liver oil terpene; vegetable squalene, also known as squalene, is a colorless or yellow transparent oily liquid with a pleasant smell. It is mainly used in food, cosmetics, medicine and other fields.

Plant squalene has a strong oxygen-carrying capacity, which can enhance the antioxidant capacity of cells and increase the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in the body.

Plant squalene is easily emulsified in standard cosmetic formulations (e.g. creams, ointments, sunscreens) and can therefore be used as a moisturizer in creams (cold creams, cleansers, moisturizers), lotions, hair oils, hair creams, lipsticks, fragrance oils, and powders. It also acts as an antioxidant and free radical scavenger. In addition, squalene can be used as a high fat agent in high-grade soaps.
