Introduction
Tetrabutylammonium tribromide is a stable orange-red crystal, non-toxic, with a melting point of 70-72°C, insoluble in water, and easily soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, and acetonitrile.
Since tetrabutylammonium tribromide has a fixed bromine content, stable performance, and easy operation, it has been widely used as an effective bromination reagent in organic synthesis, and is often used as a pharmaceutical intermediate, phase transfer catalyst, etc.
